Touché Amoré

Los Angeles, California. Formed 2007 by Jeremy Bolm (vocals), Nick Steinhardt (guitar), Clayton Stevens (guitar), Tyler Kirby (bass), and Elliot Babin (drums). Screamo/post-hardcore. One of the most important bands in 2010s hardcore — emotionally devastating, musically intense, and consistently excellent.

Key Releases

  • …To the Beat of a Dead Horse (2009) — Debut. Raw, emotional screamo.
  • Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me (2011) — Breakthrough. Short, intense songs with Bolm’s desperate vocals.
  • Is Survived By (2013) — More dynamic, more atmospheric. “Just Exist.”
  • Stage Four (2016, Epitaph) — The masterpiece. Written about Bolm’s mother’s death from cancer. “Flowers and You,” “Skyscraper.” One of the most emotionally devastating albums in hardcore — Bolm’s grief is palpable.
  • Lament (2020) — Continued the emotional intensity.

Jeremy Bolm

Jeremy Bolm is one of the most compelling vocalists in modern hardcore — his vocals are screamed but articulate, desperate but precise. Between songs, Bolm is thoughtful and articulate in a way that connects with audiences. His lyrics deal with loss, anxiety, and the weight of being alive in ways that resonate deeply.

The Bridge Nine Connection

Touché Amoré released early material on bridge-nine-records — connecting them to the Boston/NYHC straight edge tradition even though they’re a Los Angeles screamo band. Later signed to Epitaph.
